Play Practitioners/Therapists (PP) Courses

This new in-depth online Play Therapy Course is currently in development.

Professionals from the humanities and related fields will be invited to apply for registration in the new Play Practitioners / Therapists Courses, currently in development and opening in 2026. This course offers a deeper level of play therapy, more advanced assessment training, and a greater emphasis on self-study and reflective practice. The course consists of Level 1 and Level 2, which are designed to provide advanced training in therapeutic play and child-centered interventions.

Requirements:

  • Participants must possess a legal Board registration number in order to qualify for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits.
  • All course periods and modules to fulfill certification requirements.

Total estimated learning time for each course:

  • TBC

Completion Period:

  • Each course must be completed withink TBC of starting.
  • Includes:
    • Watching all videos
    • Completing exercises
    • Submitting Evaluation Forms
    • Submitting the written Assignment

Monitoring and Verification of Participation:

  • Course members should note that the presenter is able to monitor the times and duration of their engagement with the course materials.
  • If any irregularities are detected, the presenter reserves the right to verify the participant’s involvement and understanding of the course content, including the video lessons.
  • This measure ensures the integrity of the learning process.

Assistance during the course:

  • The presenter is available to assist during the course and will respond, if possible, between 09h00 and 16h00 on working days (Monday – Friday).

Important Notes:

  • This course is currently in development. We will update this page as soon as we have a clear starting date.

Completing the course and Certification:

  • During the course, participants must submit Exercises and Evaluation Forms.
  • At the end of the course participants must submit an Assignment, which will be graded by Dr. Hannie Schoeman, the course presenter.
  • Once the Exercises and Evaluation Forms are confirmed and the Assignment is marked, if the grade received is at least 70%, a PDF e-Certificate (electronic Certificate) will be issued and available to download online.

Certificate:

  • The Certificate indicates the total course hours and confirmation that participants have met the course completion requirements. Together with the CPD credits earned.
