Will I benefit when organizing a venue and course members in a specific area?

Yes, you can apply for a discount on your own course fee.

How can I arrange a course in my area?

You should send an email to the Centre for Play Therapy and Training requesting a specific date and a specific venue.

Are the courses CPD accredited?

Both courses are accredited with SACSSP (Level 1, 21 CPD credits and Level 2, 21 CPD credits) and the HPCSA Cross Professional Board (Level 1: 21 CPD, Level 2: 21 CPD)

Can I apply the course theory also in addressing adults?

Yes you can apply the techniques and theory of the Centre for Play Therapy and Training courses to any age.

What happens if I do not attend all the prescribed hours of the course?

Unfortunately you will not receive a certificate. You will need to do the parts that you have missed on the next available occasion before you will obtain your certificate.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes, you will receive a certificate directly after the course.

Can I bring my baby with me due to the fact that I am still breastfeeding?

Unfortunately this is not possible. It will distract the other course members getting into awareness.

Do I get any notes during the course?

Yes you will receive a ring binder bundle of notes together with confirmation of registration.

Can I cancel my registration and do the course at a later stage?

Yes you can apply to have your payment transferred to a different date and venue.

Do I need to register for the courses?

Yes, you need to complete the registration form and email it to the office of the Centre for Play Therapy and Training.

Will there be a tea and coffee break?

Yes, there will be one break in the morning. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. Please note that you will need to bring your own mug and teaspoon along.

Does it give me a qualification?

No, the Centre for Play Therapy and Training courses and workshops add value to what you are already practising, but do not give you a specific qualification.

What can I do with the training?

The Centre for Play Therapy and Training courses and workshops can add value to your profession and knowledge.

Play Therapy

What about lunch during Play Therapy Level 1 and 2?

Lunch is not provided and is for your own expense. You need to bring your own lunch with you and will receive a 30 minute lunch break.

How many credits for the Play Therapy Level 2?

Play Therapy Level 2 is SACSSP accredited (15 Credits) and SAAP accredited (4 Credits).

How long is the Play Therapy Level 2 course?

Play Therapy Level 2 course duration is 3 days (17 hours).

How long is the Play Therapy Level 1 course?

Play Therapy Level 1 course duration is 4 days (25 hours).

Do I need to register for the courses?

Yes, you need to complete the registration form and email it to the office of the Centre for Play Therapy and Training.

Do I need to do the Level 2 course at the same venue as I did Level 1?

You can do Play Therapy Level 2 at any venue that suits you best.

When can I enrol for the Level 2 Play Therapy course?

After completing the Play Therapy Level 1 course. This can be directly after Level 1 or you can do Level 2 at a later stage.

Although course members are free to separate the two courses it is recommended that they do the Play Therapy Level 2 course as soon as possible following or immediately after the Play Therapy Level 1 course. The two courses form a complete process of integrating the interventional process.

What qualification do I need to enrol for the Level 1 Play Therapy course?

You need to be graduated in the humanities field of study or offer proof of your involvement in studies in the humanities.

Sand and Clay Workshop

What about meals during the Sand and Clay Workshop?

Three meals will be provided during the Sand and Clay Workshop. Candidates need to bring their own snacks for in between meals. No special menu will be prepared during the Sand and Clay Workshop. There are no special menus for diabetics, people banting or following a Halaal diet. These participants are welcome to bring their own food along and prepare it themselves in the communal kitchen if they want to deviate from the menu provided.

Will the Sand and Clay Workshop always be at Uylenvlei Retreat?

Yes, the Sand and Clay Workshop only takes place at the Uylenvlei Retreat, near Gansbaai. See www.uylenvlei-retreat.co.za (GPS: S 34º34.062 and E 19º 27.807 (Monday afternoon till Friday 12h00).

When can I apply for Sand and Clay Workshop?

After completing Play Therapy Level 1 and Play Therapy Level 2.

Service Learning Programme (SLP)

When can I apply for the Service Learning Programme (SLP)?

After completing Play Therapy Level 1 and Play Therapy Level 2.

Are the courses CPD accredited?

Both courses are accredited with SACSSP (Level 1, 21 CPD credits and Level 2, 21 CPD credits) and the HPCSA Cross Professional Board (Level 1: 21 CPD, Level 2: 21 CPD)

Are there any other prerequisites to apply for the SLP?

Yes, to do the Service Learning Programme (SLP) you must be registered with a professional board or have a police clearance to work with children.

Will snacks also are provided during the SLP?

No, Service Learning Programme (SLP) participants must bring their own snacks along.

Can I ask for a special menu during the SLP?

Unfortunately this is not possible. There are no special menus for diabetics, people banting or following a Halaal diet. These participants are allowed to bring their own food along and prepare it themselves in the communal kitchen if they want to deviate from the menu.

Must I bring my own food for the 11 days of the SLP?

No, your meals and accommodation are included during the 11 day long Service Learning Programme (SLP).

How long is the Service Learning Programme (SLP)?

The duration of the Service Learning Programme (SLP) is 12 days starting on the evening of the first day and ending on the 12th day at 12h00.
